Erik Blutinger, MD, MSc, FACEP

Erik J. Blutinger is a board-certified emergency attending physician at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City, Senior Medical Director of Care Utilization and Management plus other innovative programming (including Community Paramedicine) at Mount Sinai Health Partners. He completed his residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and master’s in public health degree at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Dr. Blutinger has worked in multiple national healthcare systems and underserved communities including Austria, South Africa, and Guatemala. He serves on several advisory boards for health start-up companies, advising his health system innovation wing (Mount Sinai Innovation Partners) on new venture opportunities. Additionally, Dr. Blutinger works at the global medical device company Teleflex as the Assistant Global Patient Safety Director. He has written peer-reviewed journal articles, presented at national conferences, and has been interviewed by many media networks for delivering safe and effective unscheduled care to patients and their communities, particularly in the home setting. Dr. Blutinger has worked previously for the U.S. Senate HELP Committee on the Affordable Care Act (2009-2010) and remains actively involved with several organizations including the Medical Society of New York (MSSNY), the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and the American Medical Association (AMA).
