Praveen Mital is the ACEP Observation Section's Secretary and Newsletter Editor. He has 8 years experience running a closed observation unit at New York's North Shore University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma and academic ED. Praveen has an MBA in Healthcare Administration and has helped North Shore recently put together a successful business plan to expand their observation services. He also serves as the ED's Director of Operations and has led several multi-hospital initiatives that integrate ED and Observation Medicine Clinical Pathways. He has given many national lectures in Observation and Patient Flow and advocates using observation to help with ED throughput.
