Dr. Carol Clark is Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She is currently the Research Director for Corewell Health East Department of Emergency Medicine and an active emergency medicine physician at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. She was the Associate Research Director from 2013-2022. She was the Director of Observation Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak (now Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital) from 2007-2013.

Dr. Clark has been an active member of the ACEP Observation Medicine Section since 2007. She has served as the Newspaper Editor/Secretary, Councillor, Chair Elect and Chair. Under her watch the Section was awarded the Best Section Award. She was the developer and creator of the ACEP Science and Solutions: Observation Medicine national conference. She also was the President and founding developer and is an active member of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine Observation Medicine Interest Group. At the state level she was the founder, developer and inaugural Chair of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians Observation Section. She was also active in the Society of Chest Pain for many years including involvement in the process of accreditation.
