Gary Gaddis, MD, PhD, is a "lifetime academic" who currently serves as a teaching professor of biomedical and health informatics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC SoM), and as a volunteer clinical professor of emergency medicine at the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine. Previously, he was a professor of emergency medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine, and before that, was the St. Luke's/Missouri endowed chair for emergency medicine at the UMKC SoM. Emergency Medicine Basic Research Skills (EMBRS) founding course director Ed Panacek invited Dr. Gaddis to become the biostatistics presenter for ACEP's EMBRS course, 2009-2016. Dr. Gaddis became EMBRS course director in 2017-2024, and continued to lead as EMBRS was re-formatted to become the ACEP Research Academy in 2024-25.
