George Hughes is an Assistant Professor of Medicine through the department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University. He is also the director of Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Emory University Hospital and the Assistant Medical Director of the ED. As director of the CDU he has worked to expand the number of beds spaces, incorporated HS-troponin into the care of Emergency Department, and developed the use of telemedicine in the care of observation patients. He is passionate about using observation medicine to appropriately get patients there necessary care in a timely manner.
