Capitol Rounds: ACEP’s Advocacy Update

ACEP is committed to keeping you current on the rapidly evolving health policy landscape. The latest installment of our ACEP Advocacy webinar series is now available.

Watch our June 3 advocacy webinar, Capitol Rounds: Charting What's Happening in DC and the State Houses.

In this episode, ACEP outlines what you can expect following major changes across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and discusses new ACEP-led work with the recently established Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Joint Labor Task Force, a group focused on improving the physician work experience.

The administration’s decision to rescind EMTALA guidance related to emergency pregnant patients was announced during the recording of this webinar. An ACEP statement is here and additional advocacy opportunities are developing.

This discussion covers ACEP opposing student loan restrictions, advancing legislation for more resources to address the boarding crisis, and seizing opportunities to cut the bureaucracy that too often complicates care delivery.

ACEP is pushing back hard on proposed cuts to Medicaid. We joined 42 national medical organizations urging Congress to reject cuts that will cause millions of people to lose insurance coverage, create undue barriers to emergency care, and increase the strain on the safety net. Now is the time for you to be heard.

Voice your concerns: Urge lawmakers to reject changes to Medicaid that disproportionately affect you and your patients.

ACEP will never stop fighting for you and your patients. ACEP is firmly against restricting federal student aid and partnered with 20 physician groups to oppose federal student aid limits. And, we are speaking out to support access to vaccines and other proven strategies to protect people against infectious disease and emerging public health threats.

ACEP is your one-stop shop for policy updates and advocacy opportunities. While news from DC is changing all the time, these simple steps can help you speak out today:
